“I strive to establish long-term relationships with my clients, gaining the ability to advise and consult on matters beyond the engagement at hand. Over time, I aspire to be a trusted advisor in all matters financial, operational, and strategic for each and every one of my clients.”
Experience and Expertise
Jessica began her public accounting career at Shannon & Associates in 2005. In that time she’s successfully split her time between serving the firms largest manufacturing and distribution clients, auditing and consulting on employee benefit plans, and serving closely held and emerging businesses. What is particularly valuable to her clients, whatever their industry, is her internal controls and related systems expertise. She loves spending time getting to know her client’s businesses and a result has been able to serve her clients in many capacities; including operating as an internal controller or CFO on an interim basis, advising on succession planning and helping to design processes and controls. As a certified fraud examiner, she is adept at identifying control and process weaknesses and finding cost effective solutions.
Jessica is also a credentialed business valuation analyst. This has allowed her to perform business valuations for clients for a variety of purposes, from gifting and estate needs, mergers and acquisitions as well as internal succession planning.
Whether it is audit, tax, internal controls, fraud examinations or business valuations her clients rely on her to look out for their best interests, and deliver services that meet their needs and exceed their expectations.
Approach
Jessica likes to look ahead and anticipate her clients’ future needs. So, if they are a rapidly growing entrepreneurial business, she helps them organize their financial records to maximize efficiency and improve reporting. If her client is an emerging mid-market operation expanding into new markets and locations, she helps to implement internal controls and standards that safeguard the business from fraud. And, if they are an established organization experiencing steady growth, she works to implement the most tax efficient platform to maximize profitability for company ownership. Ultimately, Jessica aspires to be thinking ahead of where her clients are today, to ensure they will continue to be successful well into the future.
